The Campaigners to Save the Sale Hotel were led to believe that the building could never be used again as a licenced premises for contractual reasons. Local residents were pleased that this would be the case. Following upon the news that an application has been made to the Local Authority, residents have approached Trafford Heritage Society to ask how this could happen. THS has offered to listen to these concerns and to gauge the weight of feeling against the Sale Hotel re-opening as a club. As a local resident I am pleased that there is a planning application in place for the regeneration of the Sale Hotel. I and a great many other local residents have become increasingly concerned at the eye sore the Sale Hotel has become. Left like this it is only a matter of time before it is a derelict wreck - we do not want that. It is great that the building was listed but let's be realistic - a use for it, any use has to be better than a house price reducing wreck.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above but are you seriously happy as a local resident with the plans to make the Sale hotel a club with opening hours up to 2am even 3am on bank holidays ??
ReplyDeleteNo one local wants it to be a night club with late licence but a family friendly pub with food and a nice atmosphere, like the Belmore, would in my opinion be very welcome amongst many of my neighbours.
